Flips

In case you haven't heard yet, Sawyer is rolling in BOTH directions. It's not too often, and it's not his favorite thing. BUT he's done it.

Sawyer's favorite things:

Dudly, Biblo, being held, his train, his music box, chewing on his beaver, blocks, train, music box, maracas, or as my friend Emily (Sawyer's BFF's mom) said---I think if there was a rhino in front of him he'd eat it, PLUS skype and facetime (mostly because he tries to eat the phone). He also obviously enjoys sleeping and eating.

I've tried posting the video of him rolling over. It'll have to wait until I actually make a trip into the library. For now, my computer (and the internet) hate me. Sorry!

I've ordered some baby legs for Sawyer that we should be getting this week. Perfect timing, too. It's COLD!! :)

Also, ye who do cloth. What do you think about wool? What's your favorite fitted diaper? Sawyer is a heavy wetter. What we have is working 95% of the time for now (bella fitteds and kawaii covers---- we had charcoal bamboo, that didn't work at ALL), but I have a feeling when he gets older, it won't work as well. Let me know!

Sorry no pictures, I'll include double next time! :)

She's here!!!!

Sawyer's girlfriend greeted the world this morning at 10:12! I'm SO happy/excited/stoked/etc for my friends Beth and Michael. I especially can't wait for our kiddos to meet. HOPEFULLY they'll be able to meet VIA Facetime sometime in the very near future, and if we make it home this summer, they'll be able to meet in person.

Here's a picture of her. Isn't Olivia Grace beautiful?! Sawyer thinks so, too. I showed him the picture and he tried to eat my phone. I'm pretty sure that means he thinks she's pretty. She weighs in at 7lb 5oz and is 19 3/4in

I am thrilled our kiddos are about the same age. Now it's her turn to send me random pictures of her baby girl a few times a week! Don't worry, Beth, I won't stop sending pictures of Sawyer. You'll probably be getting pictures when he's 25 (side note- when's he's 25, I'll be 50. EW.). Haha. JK. :)

Accomplishments:

Several accomplishments have happened this past week:

1. Rolling from stomach to back (I'll post a video on here when the internet is not being dumb---it's on facebook if you have an account).

2. Talking---- Sawyer's been talking, but this week the style of his talking changed...PLUS he got louder and talks more frequently. Ask anyone in church this past Sunday.

3. NO binky! Sort of. He doesn't use it at home unless he's in the pack n play or the crib. It's the first step in eliminating his pacifier. I'm terrified of getting rid of it at night. At least I have a few months before I do that.......

4. SLEEP! He was already a good sleeper. That wasn't an issue. What was an issue? Getting him to nap in the crib or pack n play. His preference? On any one that holds him. Second best? The swing. However, I needed to start getting work done, and while I thoroughly enjoy a wonderful cuddle, it's not exactly productive and I don't want him doing it when he is two. Now that he's semi-mobile I don't really trust the swing. When I say semi-mobile, I mean he can roll but he WIGGLES. Again, ask anyone who sits behind me in church. Anywho, since we don't use the pacifier UNLESS he's in his crib or pack n play, he takes naps in there! Yay!!!!

I know. He's stellar. And Adorable. And Lovable.
You get the picture! :)
Currently, he's poopy! I'm going to go change a cute diaper butt! :)

Christmas

I didn't take the majority of these pictures.

Jessica took the ones of Sawyer in NC at the beginning of December.

Bek/Meaghan took the ones at the end of November and the end of December.

We had a safe, fun trip home. It was short. Those of you I didn't get to see this time, I hope I can see you next time we're in town! :)

Sawyer wasn't very happy at this point....
 He's adorable.

 Lucy LOVES Sawyer
 Sawyer playing his piano.
 Sawyer and Grannypooh
 Grandma and Sawyer
 Sawyer's cousin, Celia
Sawyer loves Shawn (and especially the wad of hair on his chin.....)
Sawyer pretty much just likes hair.
He also loves going for walks.
Granddaddy with some of his favs.
 Goofing off.
Sawyer on the big boy piano!
 He LOVES giving kisses.
 and sucking on things...
I included his picture because A) Bek looks dumb B) Sawyer is trying to sneak food
 NAKED!
 Smiles with Aunt Sandy
 Christmas day
Dudly loves to lay on anything that smells like Mom or Dad. This is Dad's shirt.
He also wanted to kill it. Makes sense? Me either...
 Psychotic Cat.

Two of my ABSOLUTE favorite people.

Lauren and I have known each other over 10 years. We're a little different, but that's what makes us work! :)
Dean stole me computer. This is what happens when he plays and doesn't delete....

 SOOOO happy!

 BFF

Not sure what's up with the flippy doo thing of my hair.
He is becoming QUITE the wiggle worm. Love!

This is what was on my arm as I'm trying to download pictures and type. Obviously I didn't write much......
Why didn't I move him? Have you ever tried to move him? If you have, you know what I mean! Unless I'm getting up out of my (his) chair, I don't bother him!!

Bilbo stole the computer

 Well, sugarfoot.

It's been over four months since my slaves brought it home. I guess it is staying around. It's a good thing it likes to snuggle even though it likes to pull my hair and whiskers. I tolerate it though because it knows I am The Master. Here's a few pictures that show how cute I am. Aren't I cute? I'm a roaring LION! Ignore my slave and it. They are snuggly. and warm. I like warm. I like to lay on top of Sawyer. AND beside him. BUT mostly on top of him.
I am SO adorable.

 Love,

Bilbo

Whew

The last couple of weeks have been CRAZY!!

Let's see.....

Sawyer and I drove to IL on November 25 with his Grandpappy and Grannypooh and surprised my family. I think they were a wee bit surprised, but you'll have to ask them. It was a trip that went by quickly. I not only visited with my family, we also saw Santa and Mrs. Claus...aka... Uncle Rob and Aunt Carol. They look pretty awesome, don't they? We were also able to manage a trip into the city to visit (and once again surprise) my friends and former students at Our Redeemer (and I retrieved my dishes that were found--more on that later). Also, I was able to visit people of the Collinsville Chorale AND see Emily, Chris, and Luke. AND we got to visit St. Paul's choir AND TSP's basketball game. We flew back on Friday, November 30. Sawyer did AWESOME in the plane again. Yet another reason why my Sawyer is the bestest.

Why did we fly back on Friday? It seems like a short trip, right? Yes. It was. BUUUUT I had to get back to get our house ready for our first annual (hopefully) open house. THANK GOODNESS Aunt Jessica and Uncle Brad were here. They came on November 29...ok it was really the wee hours of November 30th. I'm not sure what I would have done without them. They were such a big help. Together we managed to get everything baked, put out, and cleaned. I also had a lot of help from different people in the congregation that brought food. Everything went smoothly and tasted delicious. I think we had around 50-60 people come through in the span of 2 hours. It was preeetty awesome. Sawyer had a ball and slept. :)

Jessica and Brad's trip was MUCH too short. They took off on Tuesday. Sadness. We were able to go on a hike with them and we attempted to take them out to eat to a local restaurant after the madness of Sunday. Did you know most local restaurants (we tried three....) are CLOSED on Sunday? We went to Cracker Barrel.

On Friday our motley crowd of three ventured up to Fredericksburg, VA to visit with some of my dad's family. It was a short trip, but very enjoyable. We got to see Aunt Sissy and Uncle Jimmy, Tammy and Andrew (very briefly), Johnny and JC (both at night and for dinner the next day---JC has created an AWESOME fort behind Tammy and Johnny's house), Nicole and Braydon (and met Kevin), plus we got to go over to Aunt Emma's and chat with Uncle Maupin for a little bit. I think I got everyone......

Saturday Dean spent the afternoon hunting with Kent, and later we headed over to the Ashley and Margaret's house for dinner. Yum! Kent and Alisha also joined us. It was a great night. Sawyer especially had a blast.

Sunday brought church, Cantada practice, caroling and a dinner at church.

Sawyer had his 4 mo check up on Tuesday. Good news----- he didn't come down with a fever.
He weighs 13.2 and is 24in. What a big boy!! :)

Last Sunday we had the Cantada at church followed by "light finger foods" (aka a full blown meal :)

Dean's been busy with confirmation, shut-ins, visiting in general, writing sermons, bible studies, etc.

I've been trying to run with a friend, Charity, from church in the mornings. We're fairweather friends though. If it's too cold (below 40) we stay warmly tucked into our beds! :)

This Sunday is the Children's Christmas program. Charity and I are singing--Melanie playing, during the offering. The Angel Gabriel...yay!

On Christmas Day we'll have the same set up only we're singing Mary Did You Know and Of the Father's Love Begotten. I'm preeeetty stoked. :)

Then we're venturing HOME for a week.

See what I mean...C-R-A-Z-Y. I wouldn't have it any other way. Although....I am looking forward to settling back down to normal and getting my house clean again. After New Year's.........

Dishes? Where might they have been? Well, funny you asked. Apparently I was preggo when I packed everything (except the bottom of the hutch).

 Surprise!!!

Dean playing the shirt guitar!!

Sleeping IN the pack n play! Success!!!...part of the time...

Snuggles at the Cookes. I had no idea Dean took this picture. I was sleeeeeping!

Visiting with Opa. He also pooped all over him!
 Little Miss and Sawyer
 Waiting for Nana!

 Smiles!!

Welp...as I finished this, Sawyer started grunting and loaded his diaper. Time for a change!!
